My honest review of the Oakvivo fully assembled walnut luggage racks after approximately one year of use at two vacation-rental properties.

When furnishing a vacation rental, it is easy to concentrate on major items such as the bed, mattress and nightstands while overlooking the smaller conveniences that can improve a guest’s stay. One of those easily overlooked items is a luggage rack.

Have the guests used them?

Locked owner closets are common in vacation rentals because hosts need secure space for supplies and personal items, but they can reduce the storage available to guests. A luggage rack helps make up for that lost space by functioning like a temporary dresser: guests can open a suitcase on an elevated surface, keep their clothing accessible throughout the stay, and avoid repeatedly bending down to a bag on the floor.

They can remain available in the room or be folded away while still being easy for guests to find and set up.

Is the lower shelf useful?

Each rack includes a lower shelf that can be used for shoes or other belongings. Many guests may remove their everyday shoes near the entrance, but the shelf still provides a convenient place for additional shoes packed for the trip.

It also gives guests another way to keep their belongings organized instead of spreading them across the floor.

What I would change

After a year of ownership, I do not have a particular complaint about the racks. They have performed as expected, held up well and served the purpose for which I purchased them.

No product is necessarily right for every room, so hosts should still consider the available space and existing decor. However, I have not encountered a functional problem that would prevent me from recommending these.

Would I buy them again?

Yes. In fact, I already have.

I purchased these luggage racks on two separate occasions and now use them at two vacation-rental properties. I would recommend them to hosts looking for a sturdy, attractive and space-conscious way to help guests keep their suitcases off the floor.

Final verdict

Luggage racks may not be the first item that comes to mind when furnishing a vacation rental, but they solve a genuine guest need. These racks arrived fully assembled, coordinate well with my rooms, fold away easily and have remained sturdy after approximately a year of use.

Most importantly, I purchased them in response to guest feedback, and I have not received the same complaint since adding them.
